Strategies for Teaching English
at the
Middle and High School Levels
3 Days: $350
Join Dr. Brandon Abdon for this dynamic 3-day workshop designed for grade 6-12 ELA teachers of all experience levels looking to advance their practice.

Here is your opportunity to work with sought after teacher, professor, consultant, and coach Brandon Abdon (and his guests) in these interactive virtual sessions that will cover highly effective, proven strategies for teaching literacy through fiction, non-fiction, and writing workshops.

Get ready to explore innovative methods for engaging students in deep reading, critical thinking, and authentic writing experiences, knowing that there will also be time devoted to including instructional practices within the ever-growing world of AI resources that can be leveraged to support student learning by generating discussion prompts and personalizing writing feedback.

Dive into practical tools for managing the often overwhelming paper load and learn streamlined grading systems and sustainable assessment techniques that save time while promoting meaningful feedback.

Throughout the workshop, you'll collaborate with fellow educators, sharing insights and best practices that help students develop essential literacy skills in a modern, efficient classroom environment.

In a nutshell, prepare to walk away with actionable strategies, a toolkit of resources, and a fresh perspective on teaching literacy in today’s fast-paced world.

Daytime workshops will be delivered via a combination of synchronous and asynchronous sessions over Zoom, and instruction will cover a total of 16 attendance hours**.

Garden of English Workshops

AP®* English Teachers
Week-Long: $650 Daytime/$450 Evening
Join Timm Freitas, Susan Barber, or
Dr. Brandon Abdon--and their guests--for the Garden of English's AP®* English Summer Workshops, where you’ll interact with the course frameworks for AP® English (Lit or Language) and explore highly engaging resources that will help you equitably focus your classroom instruction.

After attending this workshop, you’ll have a deeper understanding of course content, receive and develop scaffolded instructional strategies, and practice varied assessment methodologies. In addition, you and everyone else involved will receive a free copy of the corresponding course's AMSCO textbook, along with other instructional materials offered by some of our partners.
​
Essentially, during this week-long course, you will explore, create, and review scaffolded English materials, proven practices, and engaging activities meant the help further develop instructional efficacy and increase equitable outcomes for all students.
​
Daytime workshops will be delivered via a combination of synchronous and asynchronous sessions over Zoom, and instruction will cover a total of 26 attendance hours**.
​
Evening workshops will be delivered synchronously over Zoom, and instruction will cover a total of 15 attendance hours**.
Sessions will run once there are a minimum of 10 participants enrolled. **
